What is an Import Profile
An Import profile in Plytix is a saved set of settings and attribute matches that you use during a product data import. It helps you skip the repetitive stuff so you don’t have to match the same columns to attributes every single time. If you regularly import similar spreadsheets, an import profile saves you time and reduces the chance of errors.
Examples
| Use case | Description |
|---|---|
| Importing a supplier’s monthly product sheet | Save the column mappings once and reuse the profile for future imports |
| Uploading new seasonal product data | Use a profile to match the same format you’ve used for previous collections |
| Managing multiple brands with consistent formats | Create one profile per brand’s spreadsheet format |
| Receiving structured data from a manufacturer | Reuse your profile every time they send a new product list |
Good to know
- You can create, load, update, or delete import profiles during the import process.
- Profiles are tied to column position, so the spreadsheet format must stay the same (same column order and structure).
- Use profiles for manual, ad hoc imports. If you’re importing the same spreadsheet regularly, you might want to use an Import Feed instead.
- You can update an existing profile anytime if your CSV format changes.
