What is Attribute Group
An attribute group is basically a bundle of related product attributes grouped by theme (like technical specifications, marketing content, or information specific to washing machines). Organizing attributes this way makes it easier to enter the right information for each product, keeps your product information consistent, and makes sharing it across teams and systems way less of a headache.
A brief history
As product catalogs grew bigger and more complex, different teams and product lines needed different attributes, and managing them all became difficult.
To solve this, attribute groups were introduced as a way to organize related attributes into manageable bundles. By grouping attributes logically (such as by technical specifications, marketing details, or logistics), it became easier to enter data and helped keep it consistent, which in turn made it easier to map data across channels and systems.
Good to know
You can use attribute groups to mirror how customers think (like “Size & Fit,” “Materials,” or “Shipping Info”), how your internal teams work (like “Marketing Content” or “Compliance Data”), or where you’re selling (like “French Content” or “Amazon Content”). It’s totally up to you.
