What is Output
In Plytix, an Output is a way to share your product data with the outside world, whether that’s a retailer, a partner, or a sales channel.
Each output lets you send your up-to-date product content from the PIM into a format that others can use.
Examples
| Use case | Type of output | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Send product data to Amazon | Channel Output | Build a product feed that updates automatically with your latest product info. |
| Share a product catalog with a distributor | Brand Portal Output | Create an always-up-to-date digital catalog that they can browse or download. |
| Sync with your Shopify store | Channel Output | Export your product data in the right format for Shopify. |
| Internal sales team needs product sheets | Brand Portal Output | Give them access to a branded, filterable product catalog they can share. |
| Update a Google Shopping feed | Channel Output | Automatically send formatted product data to Google Merchant Center. |
Good to know
- One output = one destination (like a channel feed or a Brand Portal).
- You can repurpose an output later if your needs change (for example, switch it from a Brand Portal to a Channel).
- Outputs don’t limit how many products, attributes, or assets you can include.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate output for each sales channel?
Yep, each output is tied to one destination. So if you’re sending data to both Amazon and Shopify, that’s two outputs.
Can I change how I use an output later?
You sure can. If you’re no longer using a Brand Portal, for example, you can switch that output to become a Channel instead.
Do outputs update automatically?
Yes. Any time your product data changes in Plytix, your outputs update too no manual re-exports needed.
What if I run out of outputs?
You can always purchase more. Just reach out to your account manager or the Plytix team.
